NEW “MIDNIGHT FROLICS”
CHANGE AT HIS MAJESTY’S Clem Dawe and his Midnight Frolics Company will present an entirely new programme at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening. A new series of sketches, songs and instrumental numbers will be given and the theatre should be even more popular than it has been during the past fortnight. Among the sketches to be given are “The Marriage Bureau,” “How We Used the Last Shot,” “Getting His Insurance,” “The Wedding Ring,” “A Musical Breach of Promise,” and “Aboard the Saucy Sal.” The comedy is bright and cheerful and in Clem Dawe Auckland has one of the happiest comedians who have visited the city for years. The musical standard of the show is very high and the dancers, Phyllis Amery, the Dick-Dorothy Trio and John Robertson give an admirable performance. The singers, Lillian Crisp, Oscar Beck and'William Perryman, are excellent and help the wjiole show to success. Finally, there is the jazz band, with Gregory Ivanoff in charge, which plays all kinds of dance music. The box plans for the show are at Lewis Eady’s, and the day sales at the Theatre Kiosk. The first matinee of the new show will be given on Saturday afternoon.
