SILVER JUBILEE

SACRED HEART COLLEGE MAGAZINE To celebrate its silver jubilee. Sacred Heart College, Auckland, has produced a bigger and better magazine, illustrated artistically and written brightly. “Our Alma Mater came at first walking over the bracken of the hills that were to be Ponsonby, and we now hope she has found a haven of rest in the grey house on the hill-top,” says the editorial. The “Chronicle” is a brief and humorous record of the outstanding events of the school year, and there follow the report of Rugby, boxing, cricket, debating, and the jubilee celebrations. The visits of Cardinal Ceretti, the Rev. Father Martindale and of Archbishop Kelly are recorded. There is a history of the college and a thorough review of the activities of prominent old boys in sport and in professions. The college has the honour of having produced the Rhodes Scholars of 1926 and 3 928, Mr. Wilfred Kalauger, M.A., and Mr. E. E. Bailey, LL.B.
