CLAUDELANDS TROTTING INCIDENT ONUS PLACED ON DRIVER (Special to TUB SUN) HAMILTON, To-day. A special meeting of the "Waikato Trotting Club was held last evening to consider a protest from C. G. Lee, driver of Nelson Dillon, against the second money being paid over to Anselm in the Visitors’ Handicap, on the grounds that the latter started off his wrong, mark, 72yds, instead of 84yds. The committee decided to fine T. Allen, drivei* of Anselm, £5, and to disqualify the horse from a place in the race. Nelson Dillon was placed second, and Xella Dillon, who finished fourth, receives third money. (In the Visitors’ Handicap, in which the judge’s placings were Hal Chimes 1, Anselm 2, Nelson Dillon 3, and Nella Diilon 4. Anselm —who was penalised 12yds for his dead-heat earlier with Uncle Bert, started off his original handicap. The starter had received no notice of the penalty, but the driver of Anselm knew', no doubt, of the alteration of the horse’s mark. The occurrence was decidedly unfortunate for Lee, who had a good sum on his horse, and was thus deprived of a second dividend. —“Abaydos.” ) WINTON TROTTING FIXTURE RETURN VOYAGE REHANDICAPPED I.WKUCARGILL, To-day. Return Voyage, a winner at Oamaru on Saturday, has been penalised 12yds in the Speedwell Handicap, at the Winton Trotting Club’s meeting.
