TECHNICAL SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING TOO MANY FOR PROFESSIONS (From Our Own Correspondent J PUKEKOHE, Monday. Parents, friends and past students assembled in large numbers at the Pukekohe Technical High School today on the occasion of the annual prize-giving ceremony. Mr. F. Perkins, chairman of the Board of Managers, presided. In his annual report, Mr. W. F. J. I Munro, the headmaster, referred to the | academic successes, and pointed out ; that although the school was endeayj ouring to foster agricultural education. ! too many students, more especially | boys, were following the general course, which led to professions. Of those pupils who enrolled at the commencement of the year, 45 per cent, studied the general course, 31 per cent, the commercial subjects, 10 per cent, agriculture and domestic science and 134 per cent, handcraft subjects.- Now Zealand being a primary producing country, he considered that 45 per cent, should be studying agriculture and 5 per cent, the general course. Prizes were distributed by Mr. J. W. Shaw, M.A., of the Auckland Training College staff, who delivered an interesting address to the pupils. * Following is the prize list: Form VIA. —Dux boy, J. W.
