Motor-Lorry Smashed at Level-Crossing

DRIVER FLUNG CLEAR CLOSE CALL NEAR KAIKOHE (From Our Oivn Correspondent) KAIKOHE, To-day. With his lorry hit amidships and smashed to pieces, Mr. Norman Hooker was flung clear of a southbound train this morning, receiving cuts and bruises. Mr. Hooker was returning to tlie town when the engine struck his larry. Ho was conveyed to town for first aid treatment, and it was found that he was suffering from slight cuts and shock. Mr. Hooker says he did not hear or see tlie train. There is- nothing to obstruct the view of the line.
