Niagara leaves Auckland with passengers, mails and cargo for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria and Vancouver. The Niagara arrived here yesterday morning from Sydney. SOMERSET TO LOAD. —The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Somerset, now at Port Chalmers, completing her discharge of Liverpool cargo, commences loading there, and later fills up at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington and Lyttelton. The vessel sails finally from Lyttelton on January 22 for London, Avonraouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Panama.
RUAPEHU TO LOAD. —Tlia New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Ruapehu will leave Port Chalmers on Thursday for Lyttelton, Napier and New Plymouth to complete discharge of her London cargo. On completion of discharge at New Plymouth the vessel will commence loading there for London, and will later proceed to Nelson, Auckland, Lyttelton and Wellington to complete. She is due on January 24, and will sail from that port on January 29 for Southampton and London, via Panama. TAMAROA'S ITINERARY.-The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tamaroa arrived from London, via Wellington, yesterday morning. She berthed at Queen's Wharf to unload 3,500 tons of general merchandise, the remainder of her cargo. Afterwards the vessel will load 25,000 boxes of butter at Auckland and then leave for Opua on December 27 to load 8,009 freight carcases of meat. From Opua she will go to Gisborne and Wellington for further loading, and on January 10 she will return to Auckland to load another 63,000 boxes of butter, 14,000 crates of cheese, 6,500 freight carcases of meat, and also general cargo. With passengers and mail she is to be dispatched from Auckland for Southampton and London, via Panama, at daybreak on January 19.
TRANSPACIFIC CARGO SERVICE.— The Nordhval will clear Melbourne today for Sydney, where she is due on Friday next. The Waihemo left Wellington on Friday last, is due at Melbourne on December 22 and proceeds thence to Sydney and Vancouver.
The Sussex left Los Angeles on December 3 for Hobart, Beauty Point, Melbourne and Adelaide. She is due at Hobart, about January 3. The Wairuna left Los Angeles on December 9, is due at Papeete on December 24, at Auckland January 6, thence to Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The Waikawa will leave Ocean Falls tomorrow for San Francisco, where she is due on December 23, and proceeds thence on December 26 to Los Angeles to complete loading for Napier, Lyttelton. Dunedin. Bluff and New Plymouth. She clears Los Angeles on December 30, and is due at Napier on January 25. The Hauraki was to clear San Francisco yesterday for Vancouver direct, to complete loading for Auckland. Wellington. Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. She clears Vancouver on January 5, and is due at Auckland on January 29. The Waitemata, from Westport, leaves Suva on December 21 for Vancouver, where she is due on January 14. MARAMA FROM SYDNEY.—Shortly before 7.30 o’clock this morning the Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Marama arrived in the stream at Auckland from Sydney, and, after pratiaue was granted, berthed at the Central Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. The vessel left the New South Wales port last Friday afternoon and experienced fine weather for the run across the Tasman Sea. THE MAUI POM A RE. —From Apia and Niue Island, via Southern ports the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare returned to Auckland last evening. She is at Central Wharf, and is to sail for Norfolk Island at 3 o'clock this afterTHE TREWIDDEN.—The Canadian } National Steamships chartered steamer Trewidden is reported to nave reached j Colon last Thursday, en route from MontI real to New Zealand. The vessel is bringing cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. She is due at Auckland about January 12. A. AND A. NEW YORK STEAMERS. —The New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the A. and A. Line's chartered steamers Treworlas and Keelung are to load at New York for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Treworlas is to leave New York on January 1 and the Keelung oil January 20. THE PORT ALMA.—The Commonwealth and Dominion Line's new motorship Port Alma, on her maiden voyage, left London for New Zealand on Friday. The vesesl is the latest addition to the company’s fleet. She was built at New-castle-on-Tyne by Swan, Hunter and Wig ham Richardson. Her tonnage is about 8,000 gross, and she is similar in Aize and design to the Port Dunedin and other Port motor-ships that have visited Auckland. The Port Alma is bringing general merchandise for discharge at Dunedin, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. THE SCHOONER HUIA.—The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia, which arrived from Bluff on Sunday night, berthed at King’s Wharf yesterday morning to unload a full cargo of produce. The vessel unloaded hardwood from Grafton at Bluff and then loaded her present cargo. En route from Grafton to Bluff a seaman, T. Kewley, was knocked overboard by the staysail boom. He was rescued after being in the water about 15 minutes. Captain M. W. Managhan is master of the Huia, relieving Captain T. H. E. Lane, who is ashore ill in Melbourne. HAUTURU (9.20 p.m.), 270 tons, Fowler-Jackson, for Raglan and Kawhia. The Rarawa, which sailed last evening for New Plymouth, returns again at halfP’ast seven to-morrow morning. The Hauturu left last night for Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads She returns again early on Thursday morning. The Arapawa is due at Onehunga this evening from Wanganui. At 3 p.m. tomorrow she leaves again for the same port. The Kaitoa is due at Onehunga tomorrow to load for Picton and Nelson.
