WANTED HEAD EXAMINED
PRISONER’S COMPLAINT WAR BLAMED FOR THEFTS When he came up for sentence in the Supreme Court this morning on a «ount of stealing a horse, saddle and bridle .William Cecil Rhodes,, aged 49, complained that a promised examination of his head had not been carried out. Prisoner said that a medical examination had been ordered in the Police Court but nothing had been done. He had been wounded in the head at the war "You seem to have had a good war record,” said Air. Justice Frazer, “but I am afraid that cannot help you. You have had 12 convictions before the war, and goodness knows how many since. “You say in a statement that when you are drunk you think you are smart, but are really a fool. Well, the police think so, too. I advise you to keep off drink.” In passing sentence of 12 months’ imprisonment, his Honour remarked that Rhodes’s offences had been for the mos >t part trivial.
