“UNCLE TOM’S CABIN” AT EMPIRE

Universal's great screen version of the immortal “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” will be shown again this evening at the Empire Theatre, Dominion Road. The thrill of the picture is the scene in which Eliza crosses the ice, for which not enough credit can be given to director Harry Pollard. James Lowe as Uncle Tom enacts his role with mighty simplicity and strength in marked dramatic contrast to the burly, brutal Simon Legree of George Siegmann. An exciting picture revealing the lives of gazette cameramen, “The News Parade,” will also be shown.
