MR. STANLEY CRAIG
PARAMOUNT FILMS A little over 14 years ago a lean youth of 16 summers, clad in his first suit of “long ’uns,” started on the bottom rung of the ladder in the film business as office bay to the Cooperative Film Company. Melbourne. Two years later Stan Craig heard for the first time about Paramount. At that time they had just opened up offices in Sydney and Melbourne, and Craig landed the job of booking clerk. In 12 years that lean youth has made wonderful strides in the business, and to-day he occupies the chair of general manager for Paramount Films in New Zealand. Nine months ago Mr. Craig came to
New Zealand from Adelaide, where lie was branch manager for Paramount’s South Australian exchange, and in that time he has become one of the most popular men in the business over here, with his fine personality and his cleancut business methods: General manager for New Zealand for one of the largest film companies in the world is a position of considerable responsibility, but few people know as much about the motion picture industry in the administrative as well as the exhibition side as Mr. Craig.
