RETIRING HEADMASTER
FAREWELL TO MR. WOOLLER 40 YEARS OF SERVICE After 40 years of teaching service, Mr. J. Wooller, headmaster of the Newton West school is retiring on superannuation. Yesterday parents and pupils met to bid him farewell and presented him with a gold wristlet watch. From the school committee he received an illuminated address, from the teaching staff a travelling companion and from the Standard IV. boys an inlaid tray. Mrs. Wocrller was presented with a silver tea-tray and a bouquet. On behalf of the Auckland Education Board. Mr. G. Brownlie said there were many headmasters in the service who were fine examples to the chlidr.en and Mr. Wooller was one of them. He had held many good positions under the board but the Newton West school was one of the best the board possessed, and required a particularly good teacher. The headmaster of the Newton Central school. Mr. Walker, offered Mr. Wooller the good wishes of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute and of the Auckland Headmasters’ Association.
