POPULAR MAGISTRATE
PRAISE FOR MR. BARTON (From Onr Own Correspondent) WANGANUI, Friday. The transfer of Mr. J. S. Barton S.M., to Wellington, has caused widespread regret in the Wanganui district. At Waverley, Mr. G. H. Graham, on behalf of his colleagues, Mr. T. R. Roberts of Patea, Mr. T. Blennerhassett, of Wanganui, and Constable Fitzgerald, all spoke regretfully of Mr. Barton's coming departure. Mll. Barton acknowledged the kind remarks made by the legal profession and the police.
