SKELETONS FURNISH GRIM TREASURE CLUE
Reed. 9 a.m. BUENOS AYRES, ThursProfessor Edgar Sanders, chief of the British exploration syndicate which is searching for the Jesuit treasure in Bolivia, has sailed for England, for the purpose of raising another £30,000 to purchase pumping machinery and other equipment. “The treasure undoubtedly exists,” he asserted, “though perhaps it does not total the £10,000,000 as reported. “In the course of our investigations we discovered 2SO skeletons, presumably of the peons who were employed carrying the treasure to its hidingplace. Most of them evidently had been poisoned, and others were beaten to death for their bones were broken.
