FATAL BOMBAY CLASH
MOB ATTACKS POLICE THREE CONSTABLES KILLED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) DBLITI, Thursday. Fatal rioting occurred in Bombay today. Three Indian constables and six strikers were killed in a clash between the police and the cotton-mill strikers. An infuriated mob of thousands of persons, incited by Labour leaders, marched through {lie streets. They attacked a small picket of Buropcan and Indian police, who* being outnumbered, were compelled to fire. The police we.re overwhelmed and three of them were beaten to death. Thirty others of the force were seriously injured. The citizens are panic-fetricken. The streets arc now being patrolled by armed police. All the mills have been closed.
