KING’S COLLEGE CONCERT
ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT A bright and highly diverting entertainment was given by the boys 0 ; ‘ King’s College in the Town Hall con- : cert chamber last evening in aid the school* swimming bath fund. v large attendance thoroughly enjoyed ; the programme provided. A light French comedy, acted ; French, gave a novel touch to a programme which certainly lacked little in freshness and originality. The speaking parts were taken by C. T. Web!. B. M. Hay. G. S. Umbers. V. G. Allen R. O. Calvert, L. G. Andrewes and .] Milne, all of whom performed v*»rv creditably. “The Bathroom Door.” a short bo* snappy farce, also provided conside! able enjoyment. In this the parts wer S taken by J. Milne. P. 13. Pierce. R. j j Gillett, D. .J. H. Meredith, L. G. Andrewes and W. S. Smith. Additional variety was also added with a smartly performed display b gymnasium and club squads, a firclub display proving particularly effective. Pianoforte solos and duets werf> j given by S. R. Knglish. K. A. Marlowr , 13. J. H. Meredith, P. D. Pierce and T. .T. Uollinrake, a flute solo by T. Ik Yokes-Dudgeon and a violin solo hy K. T. Stokes- Recitations by c. 0. Zahara and vocal solos by P. D. Pier*... .T. G. Harkness and 13. ,T. H. Meredith, i and a quartet by T. H. C. Caughev, r. J. Gillet, W. G. Hopkins and Harkness were also much appreciated. The programme will be repeated this evening.
Polished and tactful in treatment, dramatic and better cast, more handsomely mounted than any picture previously made in England, “Tosha, without any doubt, seems to be the most distinguished British film yet made by British International Pictures Maria Cor da, the beautiful Hungarian actress, makes great use of magnificent opportunities. and Jameson Thomas, as the husband, gives one of the finest pieces of screen acting yet seen for many months. Cinema Art Films will release “Tesha” during the new year.
