TAXI-DRIVER’S STORY
TAITA GORGE TRAGEDY Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Evidence was given regarding the Taita Gorge fatality at the inquest today by the taxi-driver, Sergent, who said the car came round the corner in front of him. Witness did not stop, but swerved to the right. Before he knew what had happened the car was over the bank. Before the accident witness had been driving on the correct side of the .road. Witness was told he was not obliged to answer any question as to what liquor he had had during the night, and the inquest was adjourned until tomorrow.
