CHILDREN’S BIG DAY
KINDERGARTEN BREAK-UP TOYS DISTRIBUTED Sixty happy small children at the Myers Kindergarten gathered around a monster Christmas tree for the annual breaki.ng-up ceremony this morning. With the parents and ffiends present, the attendance reached 140. Mrs. C. E. Maguire, president of the Kindergarten committee, and Miss C. E. Ward, headmistress, spoke. It was Miss Ward's last appearance as headmistress at a kinaergaren ceremony. She has resigned after several years’ capable service. Attendance prizes were presented to Francis Reynolds and Ronald Lowe. Presentations were also made to the mothers of the children. Morning tea was served and toys were given to the children. In spite of an offer by the kindergarten committee to provide toys for the children, the parents' committee decided to provide them. The pj-Tents were also responsible for a heavily-laden Christmas tree. After songs had been given by the children, they were seen at work. A popular figure was a Father Christmas sent by Harts, Ltd,
