SENIOR SUBURBAN CRICKET
Two Results Seem Certain OX tlie Domain to-morrow afternoon, the Suburban Cricket Association will complete its third series of matches in the senior A competition. After last Saturday’s drab play, better showings are expected and enough improvement has been carried out on the pitches at the Domain to assist the batsmen in giving more interesting performances.
GLEN EDEN will continue its first innings against Harbour Board, which has the fair tally of 237 to depend on for a win. It does not seem likely that the Glen Eden men, who have not the same batting calibre as Harbour Board, will succeed in their effort to overtake the Board’s score, They have already lost four good batsmen in scoring only 37. Ponsonby should have no difficulty in winning from Victoria. Last Saturday the Victorians had dismissed Ponsonby somewhat easily for 167, and, when favoured by this colourless showing by Ponsonby, collapsed badly and could score only 49. .On the first innings scoring, Green Lanothas an advantage of only 10 runs on Ellerslio. To-morrow’s play will be tense. The match is the sole one of the main three attractions with any great degree of uncertainty as to the result. Large attendances l>ave been general at the Domain, and Suburban support - errs will be looking for an improvement on last week’s play. Lower grade games will be continued.
