FAILED TO REPORT
PAINTER DISAPPEARS BREACH OF PROBATION Charles Leslie Green, who disappeared into thin air as far as the probation officer was concerned, was called to account for his action at the Police Court this morning. Green, a painter, aged 34, pleaded guilty lo committing a breach of the conditions! of liis release on probation. Mr. "W. J. Campbell, probation officer said that Green was admitted to probation for two years on February 24 at Napier. He came to Auckland, and reported once or twice. He then disappeared completely. Mr. Campbell now understood that the t|.n. had gone to a position in the Rotorua district, and was supporting his wife there. Green explained that he had intended reporting to Mr. Campbell when he visited Auckland at Christmas. Remarking that his action in looking after his wife saved him from gaol, Mr. if. IC. Hunt, S.M., imposed a fine ■of £ 5, in default one month's imprisonment.
