Calderwood further admitted committing mischief by wilfully imaging toilet fittings and wash tubs l 0 the extent of €7. Mr. Hammond reminded the court that main found guilty of the same offence ; few weeks ago had been sent to gaol. The men went round to empty houses taring down the lead piping, which . iey sold. They caused an enormous amount of damage. Mr. A. M. Gould, for Calderwood, exlined that his client had been influenced by a stronger mind and the needs of dire poverty. He had not in trouble for 14 years. This is a deliberate offence and not case where a man picks up a thing acting on impulse.” commented Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M.. imposing a term of one month’s imprisonment.
