PERSONAL.—Mr. J. Mac Neil has joined the Kaimai as second officer relieving Mr. R. F. Dewer, who is transferring to the Foolta in a similar capacity, relieving Mr. D. C. Champion for his holidays. Mr. E. A. Cox, chief officer of the Kaitangata, and Mr. J. Warcup, chief of tbb Katoa, exchanged ships at \V ellington on Tuesday. Mr. D. J. Rutter, third officer of the Kaitoke, is transferring to the Katoa in a similar capacity. Mr. P. J. Anderson, who recently passed the examination for his master’s ticket at Sydney, is joining the Kowhai as second officer, relieving Mr. P D Thompson for his holidays. Mr. J. A. Pearson, chief officer of the Kakariki, has joined the Qonah tempurarilv, relieving Mr. E. A. Buckingham, who will await orders. Captain W. J. s. Eyre, of the Kamo, te joining the Oonah, relieving Captain -k* . who will await instructions. _ A Press Association message from Sydney reports the death on Tuesday of Captain VV. Morgan, master of the steamer Karoola for 19 years. The Karoola ran for the British Admiralty during the war. AFANUI POSTPONED—The Northern Company advises that the Apanui’s depai un e for Totara North, llouhora and Parenga has been postponed until noon on Saturday, instead of Friday. R ,V AP ? HU AT DUNEDlN.—Arriving m the stream at Wellington on Tuesdav evening from Southampton and London, f. v, ew -Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruapehu berthed yesterday morning, and last evening sailed again for Port Chalmers, where she arrives to-day to continue discharge. The vessel will complete at Lyttelton, Napier, and New Plymouth. AORANGI FROM VANCOUVER. —The Royal Mail liner Aorangi left Vancouver yesterday with passengers, mail, and cargo for New Zealand and Australia. She is due at Auckland on December 30, and at Sydney five days later. NIAGARA FOR VANCOUVER. —The Royal Mail liner Niagara is to leave Sydney this afternoon, and is due at Auckland on Monday morning. She is scheduled to leave Auckland for Suva. Honolulu and Vancouver at two o’clock on Tuesday afternoon. MAKURA FROM 'FRISCO.— From San Francisco, Papeete and Rarotonga, the Royal Mail liner Makura is due at Wellington on Monday morning. After landing passengers, mail and cargo for New Zealand, she Is to resume her voyage to Sydndy on Tuesday afternoon. SYDNEY SERVICE.— The Ulimaroa leaves Wellington to-morrow for Sydney. The Marama leaves Sydney to-morrow for Auckland. ' The Maunganui sails from Sydney tomorrow for Wellington. All the vesesls are due at their respective destinations on Tuesday morning next. TAMAROA BERTHS. —The Shaw Savill. and Albion Company’s liner Tamaroa, which arrived in the stream at Wellington late on Tuesday evening from Southampton and London, berthed yesterday morning to land her passengers and commence the discharge of her cargo. She will complete at Auckland where she is due early next week. MANUKA AT M E LBOU R N E.— From Bluff, the Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Manuka was to arrive at Melbourne yesterday. The vessel is to saii on December 19 for Wellington, via Bluff, Dunedin and Lyttelton. She is scheduled to reach Bluff on December and "Wellington on December 29.
