“MESSIAH” TO-NIGHT
UANDEL’S sublime oratorio, J bhe XA “Messiah,” will be sung by the Auckland Choral Society this evening. This will be the 75th performance of this work by the Choral Society, and a strong cast of soloists has been selected for the occasion. Miss Alma McGruer will be the soprano soloist, Miss Beryl Smith, contralto; Mr. Birrell O’Malley, tenor; and Mr. Frank Sutherland, bass. The society will be augmented for the occasion by members of the Royal Male Choir, and Mr. Maughan Barnett will play the grand organ.
