GRAMOPHONE RECITAL
CONCERT BY HOWIES, LIMITED There Avas a large attendance at the gramophone recital given by Howies, Limited, in the Town Hall concert chamber last evening. The programme Avas of a varied nature, and in addition to the Avide range of musical art covered by the records, additional variety also introduced by pupils of Miss Cecil Hall, A\ r ho danced to suit suitable gramophone music. The dancers were.: Misses Peggy Holmes, Kitty Smallbone, Ena Lester, Isabelle Brook, Nancy Ousley, Cassie Gribble, Joyce Howie, Elva Parr, Dallas Lethaby and Lois Magill. Some excellent performances Avere Avitnessed and all dances Avere Avarmly applauded. Interesting explanatory notes on the various records Avere given by Mr. Karl Atkinson, the well-knoAvn gramophone lecturer of IYA, and piano accompaniments Avere also played by Mr. C. J. Fleming (Aerial of ll'A). It Avas announced.by Mr. S. H. HoAvie that other recitals Avould be given in the city and various suburban halls.
