ELLERSLIE GALLOPS NO FAST TIMES RECORDED Ideal conditions prevailed for training operations at Elierslie this morning, and with the near approach of the A.It.C. carnival trainers are busy keying up their charges. In addition to the course proper (.the trestles 2 sft out), number three grass also caniQ in for support, and although quite a number of horses were galloped, none appeared to bo on a time-making expedition. Course Proper Thursby, accompanied by his stable companion. Wax Officer, slipped over six furlongs, the final half-mile in 54. Lomint drew away from Sir Russell at the end of seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5, but neither was asked to do its best. They strode over the initial three furlongs in 39, and both were hitting out freely at the end. Golden Wedding and Gold Money were partnered over six furlongs, finishing on terms to record 1.20 4-5. Sir Archie and Fernden had little separating them at the conclusfcn of six furlongs in 1.21 4-5, while Palmares slipped over half a mile in 51. Vallar and Bombarder ran home from the seven-furlong disk in 1.33 1-5, the first half-mile taking 51. Xorval Tea and Critique moved comfortably over half a mile in 54, while Pure Tea covered a similar distance in easy fashion. Cup Candidate's Mile In view of his Auckland Cup engagement, Corinax’s work was extended to a mile, in company with The Lover, who is to race at Waipa over the Aveekend. They jumped away smartly on terms and strode over the first furlong in 12 1-5, the: five taking 1.1 3-5 and the complete mile 3.44 3-5. Corinax was doing it ihe better at the end, but The Lover also pleased. It is anticipated that the Magpie gelding will fulfil his engagement in the Auckland Cup. Yaqui and Bannock were associated over five furlongs in I.S. the former appearing as if he could have done better. Knight Town showed a lot of early speed in a bout with Lady’s Boy over seven furlongs in 1.37, the pair finishing together. Archeno, who is still very robust, had Lineroo to assist him over half a mile in 52 4-5. Bulolo was always going nicely to register 1.35 for seven furlongs, Perception not being required to go after time over half a mile in 55 2-5. Catoma moved well within himself over three furlongs in 45 2-5, while Lido was not exerted over six furlongs in 1.23. Number Three Track Valsier and Respirator were ja*ent aix furlongs, the former finishing in advance to register 1.21 3-5. Sleepy Sol had Miss Myrtle doing her bfitft over five furlongs in 1.7 4-5.
