Moderate spot business has been done at slightly easier prices. Hemp—The Manila market has displayed further strength and prices have advanced under active buying. irrade has sold for January-March shipment at LoS ss, and was quoted by sellers at the close at £3B lj>s. The output to December 3 was 1.279,000 bales, :> gainst 1.1D0.000 bales for the same T eriod last year. Stocks in Manila on I 'c omber 3 were 133,000 bales, against !51,000 bales last year. The sisal market •' string and advancing. No. 1, for January-March shipment, is now quoted • r \lhrs £4O 15s. Second grade closed with possible buyers at £3B 10s. The trade demand is moderate only. New Zealand has improved in sympathy with S ‘sal, and business has been reported on the basis of highpoints, £35 10s; fair, C 32 10s: common, £29 10s. Tow: No. -. £22 10s; No. 3, £l9.
