HANDICAPPING REFORM
COME anomolies in the handicaps for the second day of the Forbury Park fixture have given the promoters of systematic handicapping another strong lever, while several incidents in connection with adjustments in this province of late have not done any harm to the new cause, which has been advocated by an Auckland enthusiast and THE SUN for some time past. That the question has become serious is further proved by the fact that sporting critics who have remained reticent over the subject are now waking up to the importance of the whole business. Seeing that the trend generally is in the direction of such a reform, the slothful ones realise evidently they must be in at the “kill” or be sadly left at the post.
