AUCKLAND TEAM CHOSEN GRAMMAR CAPTAIN INCLUDED Messrs. E. C. Beale, N. C. Snedden and W. J. Smeeton have chosen the following players to represent Aucland in Plunket Shield matches, against Canterbury at Christchurch at Christmas time, and against Otago, at Dunedin, at New Year: C. F. W. Allcott (Grafton). E. H. Bowley (Y.M.C.A.). J. A. Dunning (University). H. D. Gillespie (Eden). E. Horspool (Grafton). N. Martin (United Suburbs). J. E. Mills (Eden). A. S. Player (North Shore). A. J. Postles (Eden). R. W. liowntree (Grafton). G. L. Weir (Eden). P. E. Whitelaw (Auckland Grammar School). The captain of the team, who has not yet been selected, will be appointed by the management committee of the A.C.A. to-morrow night. Practices will be held at Eden Park on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays up to next Friday week, when the team will leave for the South by the 7.40 p.m. express, returning to Auckland on Sunday morning, January 6.
