WEDDING BELLS
WHITE—PRESNELL A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. .John's Church, Ohakune, when Miss j Gladys Presnell, eldest daughter of I Mrs. C. Presnell and the late Mr. Pres- . nell. of Ohakune, and Mr. Albert Allan I White, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. White, of Wellington, were married by j the Rev. Horace Datson. The church was prettily decorated and was well filled with guests and | friends of the bride and groom. ! The bride, who was daintily dressed ! in ivory georgette with silver lace and j fan-shaped headdress of tulle, was given away by her brother, Mr. E. Presnell. She was accompanied by three bridesmaids, her sisters, Avis and Mabel, and Miss Iris Dance. The first, as the chief bridesmaid, wore mauve georgette trimmed with dainty frills and a headdress cf tulle. Her bouquet was of carnations and sweet peas. I Miss Mabel Presnell wore pink georgette, with a headdress of tulle and carried a pretty bouquet of sweet peas, i The third bridesmaid wore blue georgette with a tulle headdress, and her j bouquet was composed of carnations. The bride’s bouquet consisted of peony ; roses, sweet peas and carnations, nicely blended together. The flower girl. Miss Christina I O’Connell, looked dainty, dressed in I mauve crepe de chine, and Miss Jean I White, in white georgette, carried the bride’s train and a pretty bouquet of pansies. The bride’s mother wore a becoming black satin dress with hat to tone, and her bouquet was of roses, while the bridegroom’s mother was dressed in black crepe de chine and blue georgette, with hat to tone, and she also carried roses. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. J. Webb as best man, and Messrs. Arthur Clancy and J. Pett, of Wellington, as groomsmen. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. M. Johnston (Auckland), Mrs. Lean and. son (Hastings), Mr. and Mrs. White (Wellington), Mr. J. Pett (Wellington). At the wedding breakfast the tables were beautifully decorated with spring flowers and greenery. A handsome three-tiered cake, which formed the centre of attraction, was made by Mrs. Dance, aunt of the bride, and beautifully iced by Mr. M. Curran. The reception, held in the Railway Social Hall in the evening, was attended by many guests. The bride’s travelling costume was of bois du rose repp, with fox furs, and a hat to tone, and the newly-married couple left to spend their honeymoon in a motor tour in the North.
