LYRIC
“THE* SKY ROCKET” Ihe insecure life of the movie stars at Hollywood is the theme of "The Skyrocket,” now at the Lyric Theatre. 4he story is. stated to have been written by Adele Rogers St. John to act as a warning to the many thousands of girls who aspire to success in him acting. For the exploitation of such a theme no more capable or expea lencecl artist could have been chosen than Peggy Hopkins Joyce, who herself has attained to perhaps the greatest honours that the screen is able to bestow’. The scene is naturally laid in Hollywood, the home of the picture industry, and it is said to have been the endeavour of the producers to paint a picture as adequate and true as was possible, with the result that the magnificence of the production leaves nothing to be desired. In addition, the cast is a notable one, and includes Owen Moore, Gladys Brock well. Clive Brook, Sammy Cohen and Charles West. A bright comedy of the traditional infatuation of youth for musical comedy actreses will also be shown in ‘ Powder My Back,” starring Irene Rich.
