COLLEGE BREAK-UP
SPEECHES AT TECHNICAL SCHOOL Full of enthusiasm at the prospect of long holidays, boys and girls of the Sedclon Memorial Technical .College assembled yesterday for their annual break-up. The first chairman of the board, Mr. A. J. Entrican, was present, and also the second chairman, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. N Mr. H. S. W. King, chairman of the Board of Managers, congratulated staff and scholars on the progress made during the year. Scholars then sang the school song. Mr. Entrican congratulated Mr. King on his chairmanship since 1922, and the principal and staff on their good service. The greatest need of the college today was a farm within short distance of the city, where the boys might be trained to be farmers, he said. “The work of Mr. Park has been of value not only to this school, but tothe whole of Auckland,” said Mr. King, in paying tribute to the work of the principal. * The principal then read the annual report, which appeared in yesterday’s Sun.
