WOMEN ENTERTAINED AT PAPATOETOE The members of the women’s committee of the Papatoetoe Volunteer Fire Brigade were the guests of honour at a very enjoyable social evening in the Renown Mall, Papatoetoe, on Tuesday evening. Superintendent Bradley extended the thanks of the members of the brigade to the guests for their untiring efforts in connection with the very successful social functions held during the winter season, for the purpose of providing uniforms for the newly-formed brigade. Alesdames S. Brooke and Collings provided a very enjoyable programme of dance music, and Supt. Bradley acted as M.C. Aliss Al.acKenzie contributed fancy dances. Games added gaiety to the evening’s entertainment. During the function Aliss Doris Lipscombe, secretary of the Social Committee, was the recipient of a handsome dressing-table set from the members of the brigade, in recognition of her good services during the campaign for raising funds. Air. T. R. Smytheman, chairman of the Town Board, made the presentation.
