NEW SCHOLARSHIPS

THREE NOW AVAILABLE OFFERED BY UNIVERSITY Three new scholarships of the Auckland University College, two ot which are being offered for the first time, are now available to students. This year the college is advertising for the first time the Sir James Gunson Scholarship, which provides a postgraduate course of research in agriculture. The scholarship was founded by Sir James by his action in handing to the college the amount of a public subscription presented to him. The funds have been held by the college authorities for some little time, as they have been waiting for the most suitable occasion to announce the scholarship. The second is the John Court scholarship, presented last year. It will provide a course in agriculture at the college. The third is the Sanders Memorial Scholarship, which has already been in existence for one year. It is for the benefit of the children of naval or mercantile marine officers.
