Suburban Third Series

Ponsonby to Play Victoria ON the Domain to-morrow afternoon, the Suburban Cricket Association will conduct its third series of matches in the Senior A competition. Ponsonby plays Victoria, Harbour Board meets Glen Eden, and Ellerslie is matched against Green Lane. Most attention will he centred on Victoria’s showing against Ponsonby, which is now leading in the competition.

Victoria is now finding its feet in senior play, but there is little fear that Ponsonby will be downed. A close tussle may take place. I-iarbour Board’s batting will undoubtedly worry Glen Eden. The Edeners will have to pay more attention to clean-cut fielding if they want to stifle the batting. At present, fielding is Glen Eden’s weakest department. Anything may happen in the Eller-slie-Green Lane match. Last Saturday Ellerslie was in scoring mood, while Green Lane, in its game with Victoria, batted in mediocre fashion in two innings. The game should be interesting. Everything points to an interesting afternoon’s cricket. The Suburban senior play has improved vastly since the opening of the season. No notable changes have been made in to-morrow’s teams. Lower grade matches will be continued. In the second grade game
