COLLAPSED AND DIED
Reed. 11.22 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Mr. Alfred Shackel, a well-known member of many charitable committees, was presiding over a meeting of combined Jewish philanthropic societies. He had just announced the conclusion of the business. “This finishes our meeting,” he said, and falling back he collapsed in his chair and died.
