LYRIC
“THE SKY ROCKET’ TO-MORROW The latest Marion Davies’s success, “The Cardboard Lover,” a story of Monte Carlo, will be shown at the Lyric Theatre for the last time this evening. , .. Two delightful pictures make up the ‘new programme to be shown at the Lyric to-morrow, “The Sky Rocket and “Powder My Back.” “The Sky Rocket” is a story of a. girl’s meteoric rise to fame as a film star, and her equally rapid fall. Scenes of Hollywood have been made as authentic as possible and the picture, besides providing excellent entertainment. is a warning to young girls of the pitfalls and dangers of such a life. A capable cast has been secured for the picture, including Peggy Hopkins Joyce, Clive Brook and Sammy Cohen. The old tale of a youth’s infatuation for a musical comedy actress is the theme of “Powder My Back,” the second attraction, in which Irene Rich is starred.
