MECHANICS’ BAY LANDING OPEN ON DECEMBER 15 The new vehicular ferry landing at Mechanics’ Bay will be open for traffic on December 15, and work is now in the final stages. This was reported to the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday by the engineer, Mr. D. Holderness, who stat \, that the landing would be very similar to the one in use in Devonport. The direction piles at the approach to the landing have been so placed that the ferries will be able to steam straight out and across to Devonpon without having to change their course. I
