THE SECRETARY BIRD
The Secretary Bird gets its* name from the crest of feathers which look something like quill pens placed behind the ears. It is allied to the cultures, but it is quite unlike them %n appearance, for it has long legs ard is over four feet high. Its plumage is grey, white, and black. Although it can fly well it spends most of its time on the ground. Its home is in South and East Africa, and it lives on lizards, snakes and insects.
