ROAD TO NATIONAL PARK

FOR ALL-WEATHER TRAFFIC (Special to THE SUN) WANGANUI, Tuesday. With the metalling during the summer of 10 miles of the newlyformed I’arapara Road oy the Public Works Department, there will be an all-weather route from Taumarunui to the National Park. This road will also reduce the distance from Wanganui to Raetihi from 120 miles to 60. The work has been in for the last 40 years, but it was not until recently that work was begun. There were many difficulties to overcome in making deviations and altering bad grades.
