FAILED TO GIVE WAY
MOTORIST CAUSES ACCIDENT OFF-SIDE RULE DISREGARDED Through a motorist’s disregard of the offside rule, Mr. G. F. Chandler, a city traffic officer, has spent five days in hospital and has been five weeks away from work. E. K. Watson, who did not appear, was fined £2 and costs at the Magistrate’s Court this morning for failing to give way to a vehicle approaching from the right. Mr. Chandler urged that, as a result of Watson’s neglect, he had become involved in a collis-ion at the corner of Rosebank Road, Avondale, and the Great North Tload. Witness had suffered a compound fracture of the collar-bone and four ribs had also been broken.
