Colonel Closey. president of the Papatoetoe Welfare League, presided over a good attendance of members at tne monthly meeting on Monday evening. As the result of the inconvenience caused to residents being unable to access to a telephone after 5 p.m.. vnen the post office closes, it was decided to request the Postal Department t< instal slot-telephones in at least t o convenient positions in the town. The question of a water supply for t t district was fully discussed, and it agreed to ask the Town Board to nIC the league at a special meeting to p held on Monday. December 16, to consider the question.
