AUCKLAND SKETCH CLUB
EXHIBITION CONCLUDES Although the attendances could have been larger the Auckland Society of Arts Sketch Club has no reason to be discouraged at the result of its fourth exhibition which concludes today. Sales are not as numerous as expected, totalling only £65, but it is encouraging to note that, in most instances it was the best works that sold, evidence that keen discrimination was shown by patrons. Some 300 sketches were exhibited, and officials of the club are satisfied that the general standard was well up to that of former years. The large proportion of work done by students was also an encouraging feature, denoting as, it does healthy activity among the younger members whose active interest in art the club naturally desires to foster.
