PROPELLER BLADE LOST

CANADIAN HIGHLANDER DELAYED Through losing a propeller blade last evening the steamer Canadian Highlander will not arrive at Auckland this evening, as formerly expected. The vessel, which had been loading at Southern and East Coast ports, sailed from Napier at half-past nine last evening for Auckland. At 11 p.m. the blade was missed, and the vessel’s speed was consequently reduced to eight knots. She was due here late this evening, but is not now expected before noon to-morrow. The Canadian Highlander will berth at King’s Wharf upon arrival. Efforts will be made to effect repairs at the wharf, but t.he may have to be docked for this purpose. She is to sail finally from here for New York, Boston and Halifax.
