SUPER-TYRES ARE THE LATEST
DESIGNED FOR QUALITY ONLY A new super-tyre has recently been introduced to the Auckland market. This is the Double Eagle tyre from the famous Goodyear laboratories and is designed to be ‘‘the finest, strongest tyre that money can buy.” This new tyre will last longer than the car and dangers of blow-outs and punctures are practically eliminated: it is intended to honour the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Goodyear organisation in 1898. It will not rival, commercially. the Goodyear major lines. When Goodyear engineers started designing the Double Eagle tyre, thev were told to disregard costs and expenses and to build the best tvre possible. It was only after a solid year of experiment and trial that thev announced it was ready for the consumer. “The Double Eagle,” they declared.
“will find a very definite need for the car owner who wants extra quality, from a desire to have the finest, or because service conditions demand the investment in extra quality as a matter of good business “The Double Eagle has been built enormously stronger than any tyre ever made. It has a higher profile, virtually double thick tread, deeper cut diamonds, heavier cords of Supertwist —that patented Goodyear tyre fabric which practically eliminaes carcase breaks—extra plies and the toughest compound that -Goodyear ever developed .” In order to develop long wear, more rubber was placed between the plies and the carcase lined with an extra layer of rubber. The Double Eagle 'yre is also subjected to a special low ''mperature curing process. The new tyre is made in all the more popular sizes from 4.50-21 (30 x 4.501 to 7.00-21 (33 x 6.75). A gold coloured inner tube, to go with this new tyre. Is also announced.
