POLICE FAIL TO FIND TRACES IN CHRISTCHURCH (Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The police have made all investigations into the charges by the Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals regarding cock-fights alleged to have been held in Christchurch, and have been unable to find any foundation for the reports. At a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the society this evening a resolution “that this committee is of the opinion that live-pigeon shooting matches should be abolished,” was carded with one dissentient.
