NEW REGENT

DANCING AND PICTURES Another of Anne .Nichols’s plays hsis come to the screen. The famous author of the equally lamous ‘'Abie’s Irish Hose,” "which ran for more than live years in New York city, breaking all world, records, has contributed another of her sparkling plays to flie screen. The new picture is “Just Married,” adapted from Miss Nichols s stage farce of the same title, and it is now screening at the Regent Theatre. “Just Married” is described as a rollicking farce with most of its action taking place on hoard a transatlantic liner. flight principals figure in the plot, and they become enmeshed in a net of complications from which there seems to be no possibility of extricating them. It is without question one of the most amusing films to be shown in many months, and one which, in addition to its humour, has suspense that rivets one’s attention on the screen throughout the length of the picture. Kutli Taylor and James Hail are costarred in “Just Married.” Miss Taylor will be remembered for her performance as Lorelei in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.” while 1-lall is one of Hollywood’s most popular leading men. Others featured are Lila Lee, William Austin, Ivy Harris and Harrison Ford. This week’s stage presentation is staged on the deck of a warship and is distinctly nautical in tone. Mr. Maurice Guttridge's band plays selections of sailor and jazz airs, and the dancing by the talented Sydney ballet, trained by Mr. Maurice Diamond, largely consists of dances which resemble the sailor’s hornpipe. Stella I<amond, the dainty soubrette, repeats her successful appearance of last ween and new numbers are introduced by Freddie Hodges and Ivy To we. The Regent Operatic Orchestra, directed by Mr. Maurice Guttridge, plays a delightful programme of music.
