HIS MAJESTY’S

“MIDNIGHT FROLICS” TOMORROW To-morrow at His Majesty’s Theatre J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present a return visit of that popular revue, the “Midnight Frolics,’” with Clem Dawe, and the jazz band of 12, who inaugurate an extended season with a matinee every Saturday. Since their last appearance here the combination has played exceptionally successful seasons in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. A Brisbane critic says: “The ‘Midnight Frolics’ by means of bright and snappy vaudeville and revue has secured for itself a. big place in the esteem of Brisbane theatregoers. Despite the fact that the programme presented on Saturday night was the twelfth consecutive one given during the present season, the high Quality of the offering has not deteriorated in the least, but rather has improved. “The company is very well balanced. The items on a well arranged programme cover every desire, ranging from comedy to operatic excerpts and taking in on the way dancing, solo, and concerted musical numbers and varied instrumental items. There is not one dull moment throughout the •whole show, which is splendidly mounted and stage-managed. “That irrepressible mirtli-maker and versatile performer, Clem Dawe, is once more the outstanding personality. It is wonderful the amount of work this young performer manages to put into one evening. A splendid humorist, good dancer and versatile musician, he is the life and soul of the piece. There is a refreshing sparkle about the whole outfit. \VTiolesome comedy, delightful vocal and instrumental music and clever dancing, with quick changes of scenery and costumes, are features. 5 * The company includes Eric Edgley, who has been associated with his brother, Clem Dawe, in his fun-making over the last few years. Les and Dorothy White and G-ertie Cremer are a trio of mirth-makers. Singers with the show are Oscar Beck. William Perryman and Lillian Crisp. Phyllis Amery is the solo dancer and specially featured are Gregory Ivanoff, and the Frolic’s jazz band of 12. The box plans are at Lewis Eady's, Ltd.
