PITCAIRN ISLANDERS SEE CITY FOR FIRST TIME
FOR the first time in their lives -*■ two young men walked the streets of a city yesterday. They were two Pitcairn Islanders, who arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Rotorua. Both are descendants of the mutineers of the Bounty and are some of the very few people who have left the island. They intend to work their way round New Zealand to gain experience of the world before returning to their island home. Yesterday they took their first tram-rides, their first look at railways, motor-cars, giant buildings and all that spells progress and civilisation.
