GOOD PRICES AND SPIRITED BIDDING Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. At the first wool sale here to-day the demand was good, prices being about the same ns those ruling at the first sale in 1927. There was spirited bidding for all good-class wool, with satisfactory competition from Bradford and Continental buyers. Of the first catalogue of 3,071 some 480 bales were passed in. Later in the sale competition from Bradford seemed to fall off. There was a tendency for superfine wools to ease, the decline being up to one penny a Pound in some cases. following were some of the top Prices up to lunch-time: Half bred, 24d; forriedale. 23',d; Merino. 21£d: three-quarter-bred, 20d; crossbred. 17id; fine Pieces, 20Jd.
