FLAX-GRADING RETURNS
IMPROVEMENT IN QUALITY Compared with the figures for the corresponding period of last year, the returns of tiax graded at Auckland during November show a decrease. There has been a considerable improvement in the quality, however. Following are the returns for November, those for the same month last year being given in parentheses:— Hemp.—Good fair, 354 bales (2); high fair, 485 (284): low fair, 571 (1.15 S); common, 259 (S 15); rejected, 34 (29); total, 1,704 (2,288). Tow—No 1, 147 ( —); No. 2, 298 (323); No. 3, 127 (291); condemned, 24 (46); total, 596 (660). Stripper Slips.—No. 2, 5 (20); No. 3, 11 (2); condemned, 4 ( —); total, 20 (22).
