For the first time after five years Oxford won the annual inter-university relay races athletic meeting against Cambridge by four events to three. Cambridge won the two miles race by 15yds, in which W. C. Wentworth t Sydney) ran the last half-mile. ( The Oxford University trial eights were rowed at Henley. Graham’s crew which included McCulloch (Sydney) and Ingles (Tasmania), won by a length in 9m 20s. Johnson’s crew, which included Broomfield (Sydney), was given 15s start.
