“THE BUTTER AND EGG MAN” -The Butter and Egg Man" is the title of the feature comedy to be shown at the Britannia Theatre this evening, with Jack Mulhall in the leading role. A "Butter and Egg Man," that is. a simpleton, amply describes Peter Jones, who was clerk in his grandmother's hotel in Chillicothe, Ohio. In his mind he was a play producer in New York. His dream crystallised to a determination when he met Jack Maclure, a shady play producer from New' York, at his hotel- His grandmother dotingly financed him to the extent of 25.000 dollars by mortgaging her hotel, and Peter set out for the big city. “A Harp in Hock.” starring Rudolph Schildkraut and Bessie Love, will also be shown.
